Martina Pagliuca, Federica Gattazzo and Pietro Lapidari receive the ASCO Merit Award

Conquer Cancer, the American Society for Clinical Oncology’s (ASCO) Foundation, has awarded three of its Merit Awards to young oncology experts linked to the university. They received the awards during the foundation’s annual oncology congress, which took place in Chicago from 31 May to 4 June.

Federica Gattazzo, a PhD candidate at the Tumour Immunology and anti-cancer immunotherapy unit (ITIC – Univ. Paris-Saclay/Inserm/Institut Gustave Roussy), led by Laurence Zitvogel, was rewarded for her study of the Impact of microbiota specific circulating memory T cells in response to immunotherapy.

Martina Pagliuca, a medical oncologist and researcher at the Molecular predictors and new targets in oncology (PMNCO – Univ. Paris-Saclay/Inserm/Institut Gustave Roussy), led by Fabrice André, was rewarded for her study of the Trajectories of cancer-related behavioral symptoms (CRBS) burden after breast cancer (BC). Martina also works alongside Ines Vaz-Luis in the Cancer Survivorship team.

Pietro Lapidari, a medical oncologist and researcher within the breast pathology committee in senology at the Molecular predictors and new targets in oncology unit (PMNCO – Univ. Paris-Saclay/Inserm/Institut Gustave Roussy), was rewarded for his study of Aromatase inhibitor musculoskeletal toxicity in patients with early breast cancer. Pietro also works alongside Ines Vaz-Luis in the Cancer Survivorship team.

The ASCO Merit Awards reward talented young experts for the quality of their abstracts submitted to ASCO Meetings and for their scientific merit.
