C-BASC innovation projects
The Center for Interdisciplinary Studies on Biodiversity, Agroecology, Society and Climate (C-BASC) seeks to deepen the links between research, innovation and training. C-BASC has two main approaches to innovation. Our innovation projects are listed below (click on them to learn more); other projects will follow shortly.
Valorize human urine in agriculture?
Urine represents 1% of the volume of wastewater for 80% of nitrogen and 50% of phosphorus, essential nutrients for plant growth.
A collaborative knowledge base on plants
Centralizing all the available information on a single site would make it possible to obtain a global vision of a plant, for the benefit of all.
"I eat for the future" (season 2)
This project sets up a large-scale awareness-raising action to concretely accompany young adults (18-35 years old) in understanding and adopting a sustainable diet on a daily basis.
Visit of a delegation from Silicon Valley
The objective of the meeting (July 11-15, 2022) is to strengthen the biodiversity and climate resilience of agricultural and natural spaces, by comparing ideas, initiatives and actions of the Santa Clara Valley (San José, Silicon Valley, California) with those of the Plateau de Saclay (Île-de-France), two peri-urban territories with a strong agricultural identity.
Vegetable production in the face of climate change
This project aims to collectively identify the current priority concerns of vegetable producers, to model the impact of climate scenarios on a panel of vegetables and to consider experimental schemes.
Re-anchoring food flows and looping the flows of organic matter (compost...) on a territorial scale
It is the first project of the Living lab, a platform for the (agro)ecological transition of the territory around the university.
