Week for the elimination of Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) – 25-29 November 2024
As part of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women on 25 November 2024, Université Paris-Saclay is organising a week of events dedicated to Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV). Through a series of conferences, debates and screenings, the university aims to encourage people to speak out and reaffirm the university’s zero tolerance approach to sexual and gender-based violence of all kinds.
Every year, this special week marks a key moment in the university’s annual commitment to the fight against violence and discrimination.
The events and actions in each institution

- 15 November: Forum theatre sessions about SGBV with the theatre company, La Cigale

- 25, 26 and 28 November: Exhibition at the multimedia library on professional equality and violence in the workplace, 10am-6.30pm.
Université Évry Paris-Saclay
- 25 November: Screening of the short film Tom et Lola, followed by a debate with Geoffrey de Giacomo, coordinator of CLSPD Évry de 12.30pm-2pm in the salle des thèses (BU)
- 28 November: : The bus En avant toutes (Crous) will be present on campus En avant toutes (Crous)
- All week long: Distribution of sex education books par Charline Vermont with the CROUS.
In addition to the training and communication actions which are being organised to raise awareness about gender-based discrimination, a forum theatre session will also be held on 28 November 2024 from 1-4pm at the Henri Moissan building (640 rue Louis de Broglie, 91400 Orsay – Faculty of Pharmacy), entitled “A normal job” (Un travail normal), aimed at university staff.

Spotlight on the EUGLOH SGBV campaign
During this week of events dedicated to raising awareness about SGBV at the university, the EUGLOH European university alliance, of which Université Paris-Saclay is a founding member, will be running a collaborative campaign on the fight against gender inequality, gender-based discrimination and sexual harassment.
Four webinars will take place throughout the week, with the participation of key SGBV experts from Université Paris-Saclay:
- Monday 25 November, 1-2.30pm: Gender Violence and Legal Perspectives, with the participation of Livia Labelle, student from the Jean Monnet Faculty (Law, Economics, Management) and member of the student association, Fières et Sœurs
- Tuesday 26 November, 1-2.30pm: Gender Inequalities Across Various Contexts, with the participation of Clotilde Coron, Vice President for Equality, Diversity & Inclusion at Université Paris-Saclay
- Wednesday 27 November, 1-2.30pm: Gender Perspectives on Cyberbullying, Sexuality, and Diversity
- Thursday 28 November, 1-2.30pm: Panel Discussion: Practical Approaches to Addressing Gender-Based Violence, with the participation of Sarah Boratav, Project Coordinator for Equality & Diversity at Université Paris-Saclay

The e-learning course on Sexual and Gender-Based Violence
Université Paris-Saclay has developed an online training and awareness course in Sexual and Gender-Based Violence, as part of its institutional policy. The 75-minute course is aimed at the university’s students, academics and staff, and in particular its PhD candidates, and consists of four parts adapted to the personal and professional situations which can arise in university life.
