More than 600 ErasmusDays events in France and more than 1,300 in Europe were organized to promote Erasmus + Programme. Université Paris-Saclay held its first ErasmusDays gathering and welcomed Laure Coudret-Laut, Director of the Erasmus + French Education & Training Agency, on its campus.

Hosted by the Institute of Optics Graduate School of Université Paris-Saclay the event gathered sixty teaching and administrative staff members

While opening the event, UPSaclay President Gilles Bloch highlighted the contribution brought by the Erasmus+ programme to the internationalisation of higher education. Laure Coudret-Laut told the attendees about the new opportunities offered by Erasmus+ 2019 and the new proposal of the European Commission concerning Erasmus 2021-2027. The next Erasmus initiative plans on doubling the budget and tripling the total number of the programme’s eligible participants. Following the opening remarks by Gilles Bloch and Laure Coudret-Laut, UPSaclay International Development Director Guillaume Garreta offered an overview of the Erasmus+ projects run by the UPSaclay founding members.

The presentations were pursued by three simultaneous workshops led by lecturers.

During Workshop 1 International Skills, lecturers shared their experience of teaching mobility within the Erasmus+ programme. The new mobility project outside Europe International credit mobility of Université Paris-Sud was also presented.

Workshop 2 Teaching Innovation allowed to emphasize the diversity of Erasmus+ tools promoting transnational and international cooperation. The researcher Olivier Vitrac introduced the project FITNess. Gilles Rouet, Director of  Graduate School of Management  of Université Versailles Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines shared his expertise regarding projects of the Capacity Building  programme and made a presentation of the EURASIA project and Jean Monnet projects. Laure Coudret-Laut was among the participants in this workshop and appreciated the quality of the discussions.

Worskshop 3 Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degrees gathered the coordinator of three Excellent Masters Erasmus Mundus. Isabelle Ledoux introduced the Master Monabiphot of ENS Paris-Saclay, Barbara Rega the Master FIPDes  of AgroParisTech and Sandrine Lacombe the Master SERP + of Université Paris-Sud. The audience highly appreciated the presentations made by the speakers, which encouraged some of the teaching staff members to think about designing Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degrees. This workshop was also an excellent opportunity for the three coordinators to meet and share their ideas.

During the cocktail, the attendees and speakers enjoyed the cordial atmosphere of the gathering and continued their discussion in an informal setting. Laure Coudret-Laut, Gilles Bloch  and Jean-Louis Martin, General Director of Institute of Optics Graduate School, joined them for sharing this convivial moment.
