Élisabeth Borne, French Minister of State, and Roxana Mînzatu, European Commissioner, visit Université Paris-Saclay
Élisabeth Borne, French Minister of State and Minister of Education, Higher Education and Research, and Roxana Mînzatu, Executive Vice-President of the European Commission for Social Rights and Skills, Quality Jobs and Preparedness, visited Université Paris-Saclay on Friday 25 April 2025.
They were welcomed at ENS Paris-Saclay by the school’s president, Nathalie Carrasco, and Camille Galap, president of Université Paris-Saclay, where they were able to talk with researchers and students from the university about international attractiveness, welcome initiatives, research development, student and researcher experiences, cooperation and European university alliances.
As the coordinator of the European University Alliance for Global Health (EUGLOH), supported by the European Commission as part of the “European Universities” initiative of the Erasmus+ programme, which brings together nine universities committed to education in global issues linked to health and well-being, Université Paris-Saclay presented several of its initiatives as part of the official visit.
The university spoke of its policy for welcoming international students, echoed by first-hand experiences from three of the university’s students who expressed the wealth of opportunities offered by EUGLOH as part of their academic programmes.
In the context of the current global climate, where there is a growing need for international mobility from a large number of countries, the university also presented its policy to attract and promote research and its initiatives to host international scientists. Once again, first-hand accounts from researchers working on European or international-level projects highlighted the challenges they currently face, the solutions being deployed and the benefits achieved.
Various fields and topics were also explored as part of the visit, including Artificial Intelligence.
