Creation of a new labcom dedicated to the development of low carbon cements
A new LabCom "Eco-Efficient Cementitious Materials" (MC²E), common to ENS Paris-Saclay, CNRS and ECOCEM has just been created. The researchers involved in the LabCom have in particular developed a (patented) new cement based on residues from the steel industry and whose carbon impact is about 80% lower than that of the traditional cement. This new cement represents a very promising alternative in the current context of global warming. The LabCom research activities concern 2 main themes: cementitious materials with very low CO2 footprint and low carbon materials for thermal comfort and energy saving.
