Laboratoire de physique des 2 infinis Irène Joliot-Curie (IJCLab)

Laboratory presentation

The Laboratory of the Physics of the two infinities Irène Joliot-Curie (IJCLab) was born in 2020 from the merger of 5 research units: CSNCM, IMNC, IPNO, LAL, LPT. Its scientific activities are structured into 7 scientific poles:
1- Astroparticles, Astrophysics and Cosmology,
2- Accelerator physics,
3- High Energy Physics,
4- Nuclear Physics,
5- Theoretical Physics,
6- Energy and environment,
7- Health.
They are supported by an Engineering Pole which brings together high-expertise technical services, structured into four departments in the fields of electronics, IT, instrumentation and mechanics.
This set represents a unique potential for the design, development and use of the instruments necessary for the scientific challenges of the decades to come (accelerators and detectors).
The presence of a vast set of research infrastructures and technological platforms (Andromeda, ALTO, Laserix, SCALP, Supratech), is also an essential characteristic of the IJCLab.
