Biosphera : research
Biosphera covers a spectrum of highly interconnected research activities, from fundamental to applied, in the fields of agrosciences, agriculture, food, ecology, evolution and the environment.
Biosphera brings together 31 research laboratories from national research organisations (CNRS, INRAE, CEA), AgroParisTech, the School of Science in Orsay and the universities of “Evry Val d’Essonne” and “Versailles Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines”. This group is made up of about one hundred teams involved in thematic and multidisciplinary research communities covering six major fields: animal sciences, plant sciences, ecology & evolution, nutrition & food sciences, climate & environment, and biobased economics.
The research teams contributing to Biosphera's activities are involved in the range of training courses and thematic programmes on offer. They welcome trainees and students of all levels, as well as doctoral and post-doctoral students of all nationalities.
These teams are also in charge of experimental facilities. These scientific facilities of excellence play a full part in research and training within Biosphera and provide services for public and private partner structures.
As part of the Université Paris-Saclay, the research teams and their platforms contribute to the interfaces with the other Graduate Schools, particularly in the Life Sciences field for shared and open systems.
