The M2 "Domaines anglophones" course is a highly selective program, jointly offered by ENS Paris-Saclay and Université Paris-Cité. It is designed to help students develop pre-doctoral skills in English studies, with a focus on discourse analysis, English for specific purposes, language teaching, or cultural studies ("civilisation").
The program includes a core curriculum (epistemology of English studies, language teaching, history of science, academic writing, scientific events and conferences). Students will then specialize in discourse analysis (especially discourse analysis in English for Specific Purposes), English language teaching, or cultural studies ("civilisation"). They will write a 100-page research disseration in their chosen field.
Classes take place at ENS Paris-Saclay (Gif-sur-Yvette) and Université Paris-Cité (Paris 13e).

Target Audience and Entry Requirements
- A high level of proficiency in English is required (minimum C1, C2 recommended) to pursue the program.
- International applicants must also demonstrate a C1 level of proficiency in French, as some courses will be taught in French.
- Applicants to the Master 2 in English Studies must have completed a Master 1 in English (LLCER) or an equivalent program in English studies.
- Please note: applicants are required to submit a thesis project that falls within the scientific scope of the program at the time of application. No candidate will be admitted without presenting a research project that aligns with the program’s research areas.
